EVENING TRACK MEET A. R. DUFF IN FORM A. R. Duff, the New Zealand University 220yds titleholder, again revealed good form at last night’s track and field meet on the Caledonian Ground, winning the 100yds handicap from the one yard mark in 10 2- Conditions were more favourable than have been experienced for many weeks past, but the track was still lifeless after the rain, enhancing the value of Duff’s effort. The Civil Service all-round athlete, G ; H. Bilbrough, scored his second win within a week by carrying off the halfmile handicap off 65yds in Imin 59 3- the winner finishing with something in reserve. M. Collins (Civil Service) won a closely-fought junior halfmile by inches from H. F. Coombs (Celtic United). The winner was off 45yds, his time being 2min 7 ,4-6 sec. In the junior 121 b shot putt handicap a promising Anglican competitor, K. J. Morgan, showed natural ability in winning the event, and in spite of his inexperience and lack of style, he registered a good effort of 38ft isin. The 161 b shot putt was won by R. Berry (Caversham), the well-known Rugby player, who registered a putt of just on 32ft, and Civil Service gained its first relay win of the season. In the long jump Mornington filled all the places, Duncan winning with an actual jump of 19ft lin. Results:— 75 YARDS JUNIOR HANDICAP. J. H.
