THE BORER.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —“ Timber,” in his letter concerning the borer, stated that the South African method of impregnating the timber before use is the only cure, and that this would cost as much as the Onekaka Ironworks. It js obvious that “ Timber ” does not know that in New Zealand we have a method of impregnating the timber the cost of which is very reasonable indeed. Perhaps “ Timber ” has not yet tried' out this method of timber preservation.— I am, etc., Prevention. December 19.
