PRESENTATION OF PRIZES A successful scholastic year was concluded on Thursday evening, when the annual prize-giving ceremony of St. PhiJomcna’s College was held. In the unavoidable absence of Bishop Whyte, lit. Rev. Mgr. Delany presided, llev. Fathers Collins, Hally, M'Mahon, Quinn, and Toomey, as well as a large number of relatives and friends of the pupils, were also present. J3AGANDREW ROAD The annual break-up ceremony of the Macandrew Road School was hold on Thursday evening in the South Dunedin Town Hall, Air H. K. Ross (the chairman of the school committee) presiding. The distribution of prizes for the infant department and the intermediate department took place in the morning and the afternoon respective!.?. The evening was devoted to the break-up of the senior school. A small concert programme preceded the prize-giving function.

Associated with the chairman on the platfrom was the Postmaster-General (Hon. F. Jones), who presented the dux modal and the prize to the proximo acccssit. The Chairman apologised for the unavoidable absence of Air Wallace (chairman of the Education Board), and on behalf of the school committee expressed his thanks- to tho Ladies’ Committee, the head master, the staff of the school, and the many donors of prizes for their hearty co-operation in making the work in the school an unqualified success.
