Mr Hepburn announced that he is sailing for Australia shortly after the New Year to study the Commonwealth bank and social legislation. He will be accompanied by the Minister of Works, Mr Colin Campbell, and Mr Chester Walters, Deputy Provincial Treasurer. The announcement followed the Premier’s vigorous criticism of the financial policy of the Prime Minister. Mr Mackenzie King, as merely drifting. Air Hepburn demands the immediate refunding of the national debt, predicting bankruptcy in three years if this is not done. He declares that Australia is reported to have found a real solution and he is going over there to find out. The visit is regarded as another step in the open warfare between Mr Hepburn and the Prime Minister, which crystallised in Mr Hepburn’s declaration that the Prime Alinister was unable to lead the party in a solution of economic problems.
