Fdir supplies of Nelson tomatoes are also coming to hand. Increased consignments of gooseberries arS arriving, with lower values ruling. Cherries have firmed slightly in value, and supplies are not plentiful. Strawberries have been affected by the weather, and an excellent demand has been experienced for supplies for jam purposes. Oranges have a fair inquiry. A shipment of. Jamaican grown is expected next week. Cherry plums are now coming to hand, and red and black currants are also arriving on this market. A small parcel of Califqrijian grapefruit arrived by the Waiana. This vessel also brought a small shipment of Californian grapes. Ripe bananas have a fair demand. Green Niues and Samoans by the Maui Pomare are due to arrive next Tuesday; This shipment is a fairly heavy one, and should be sufficient for the Christmas trade. New Zealand lemons have a good demand, and values for gopd quality lines have firmed considerably. With the exception of cauliflowers, all lines of vegetables are in ample supply, with cabbage and lettuce still difficult to dispose of at payable prices. Small lines of asparagus continue to arrive.
