LANDING WHEEL COLLAPSES

BAFFIN BOMBER DAMAGED [Per United Press Association.] BLENHEIM, November 25. When one of the Baffin bombers belonging to the Wellington Territorial Air Force squadron, which is encamped at the Blenheim aerodrome, was taxiing slowly out on to the flying field this morning preparatory to taking off for machine-gun practice over Lake Grassmere, one of the landing wheels collapsed. The big machine tipped forward, smashing the propeller and one of the lower wings. Pilot-officer Smith, who was at the controls, was uninjured. Examination disclosed faults in the metal disc of th« wheel. Repairs will be effected at Blenj heim, after spare parts are receive* from Hobsonville base.
