A bright match was witnessed between Stewart and Ferguson, the former placing a good performance to his credit in defeating Ferguson, who gets some remarkable shots at times, but uses too many badminton shots, and would dobetter if he locked his wrist for his forehand drive. It was decided that all clubs notify/ the secretary, Mr Mason, of the results of their respective matches on Jhe
Saturday evening on which the matches are played. It was also decided that players be checked from catching the ball or stopping it with their racket. The ball must become dead, either by hitting the ground or fence behind the baseline. Some players have a habit of hitting the ball on the full when it is out, and umpires get confused, so that the above ruling will be enforced. A little latitude will be extended to the courts that have a long back-run. Various clubs are making use of the spare Saturday by having club tournaments. Forbury, Dundas, and Macandrew Road are among these. Macandrew Road held a,ladies’ singles tournament.
