AIR SQUADRON IN CAMP
INSPECTION BY MINISTER MEN KEEN-GOOD WORK DONE (Per United Press Association.) BEENHFIM, November 24. Flying from Wellington by special plane, the Minister of Defence (Hon. F. Jones) carried out an ofiieial inspection of the Wellington (Territorial) Squadron of the Koval New Zealand Air Force camp' at Blenheim aerodrome. Included in the programme was an inspection of the camp facilities, tents, and aircraft. Opportunity w.as taken by the Minister to chat briefly with the officers and men before leaving for the south by airliner. The Minister said he was very pleased with the camp. “It really is the first camp we’ve had, and I’m very pleased with the work that has been done,’’ Mr Jones said. “ Reports from all quarters have been excellent. The men are very keen and they are all doing good work.” Expressing gratification at the comprehensive nature of the camp, Air Jones said that all the officers of the squadron and 80 per cent, of the men were present, which was ap excellent 1 state of affairs. The Wellington squadron was carrying out its work with much success." Further squadrons were being established in Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
