GERMAN AIR OFFICER
RESULTS OF ENGLISH VISIT OBSTACLES TO APPEASEMENT TALKS Press Association —By Telegraph—Coypright LONDON, November 23. Tho ‘ News Chronicle’s ’ Berlin correspondent circumstantially sets out the results of tho visit of Major-general Bodenschatz to London. Field-Marshal Goeripg was anxious that Mr Chamberlain should realise that Germany would bo annoyed if Jews wore settled in former German colonics. It is noted that, while Mr Chamberlain in the House of Commons spoke positively with regard to settlement in British Guiana, ho referred only to plans regarding Tanganyika. Major-general Bodenschatz found that the German anti-British and proArab Press campaign was an insuperable obstacle to a renewal of appeasement talks. He also discussed with Dr von. Dirksen the advisability that he should go to Berlin in order to correctly report on the reactions of the pogroms throughout Britain. Finally it has been decided that the atmosphere in London, was unfavourable to resumption of the Anglo-German talks, and Field-Marshal Goering will not visit London at present.
