OTAGO CRICKET.
TO THE EDITORSir, —I am writing this letter to express my displeasure at the action of the O.C.A. in putting off the games for 1 next Saturday. We have already lost one Saturday owing to rain, and, will lose three more after Christmas owing to the representative matches, etc., being played. If there is no play on Saturday, that will be five playing days missed, not allowing for any more wet days. There are about 18 playing Saturdays in the season, and with at least five out it spoils the season. We pay, £2 as a subscription, and we will hhve about 13 days for matches. All the players I have spoken to are disap-, pointed at the action of the 0.C.A.This sprt of thing drives players out of the game. The O.C.A. expects players to support the endowment scheme and pay; money in, and this is the return they get. It is about time some of the older members retired. This would leave room for men who consider, the playersOf course, it is not too late to declare the games on yet. I hope the hint will be taken.—l am, etc., , . Intermediate Cricketer. November 23.
