The newspapers are calling for volunteers aged 17 to 22 for Germany’s first parachutist rifle regiment, the main wartime duty of which will bo to create surprise diversions on an enemy’s flank and rear, where the men would be dropped from aircraft by parachutes. They must serve two years, after which they will have the option of joining the regular army for 12 years*
