CORPORATION NOTICES. DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORISING THE RAISING OP A LOAN OF £IOO,OOO, TO BE KNOWN AS THE “ WAIPORI FALLS ELECTRICAL POWER RENEWAL LOAN, 1939.” PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Dunedin City Council, at a SPECIAL MEETING convened for the purpose and held on MONDAY, the 21st day of November, 1938, passed the undermentioned Resolution authorising the raising of a Loan of £IOO,OOO, to be known as the “ Waipori Falls Electrical Power Renewal Loan, 1959.” The Resolution is as follows: — 1. That it bo arid is hereby resolved by the Dunedin City Council so that this Resolution may be confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council and operate as a Special Order, empowering the said Council, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” to raise a Special Loan of One Hundred Thousand Pounds (£100,000) on the terms hereinafter prescribed. 2. That the said proposed Loan be known as “ The Waipori Falls Electrical Power Renewal Loan, 1939,” and be raised for the purpose of repaying (in part) a loan falling due in London on the Ist February, 1939, and being Part 11. of £200,000 of the “ £356,000 Renewal Loan, 1934.” 3. That the security for the interest and other yearly charges on the said proposed loan be a special annually recurring rate of Two Pence (2d) in the! Pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the said city. 4. That the terms of the said proposed Loan shall be Fifteen (15) Years, from the First (Ist) day of February, 1939. 5. That the said proposed Loan of One Hundred Thousand Pounds be raised by the issue of debentures under “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” and that such debentures shall have coupons annexed and bear interest at the rate of Three and one-half per centum (34 per cent.) per_ annum, payable half-yearly on the First (Ist! day of August and the First (Ist) day of February in each and every year during the currency of the debentures, or until the debentures are duly paid oft, the first such coupon being dated the First (Ist) day of August, 1939. 6. That the said debentures and the interest coupons shall be payable, free of exchange, to the holder at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand within New Zealand. 7. That the Corporate Seal be affixed to all such debentures, and that all such debentures and relative coupons be signed by the Mayor and the City Treasurer, but so that their respective signatures to the coupons may be lithographed.
