One hundred musicians gave their services gratis, and the proceeds are to bo devoted to the crippled children’s fund. The Concert Chamber was filled with over 500 people determined to enjoy themselves, and if appearances mean anything they succeeded to the utmost. All the leading dance bands were on deck, including the Savonia, Alnyfair. Paramount, Sports, New Majestic, New Century, Commodores. Georgians. Alex. Swann’s, and Dick Colvin’s Bands. Ted Heaney had his accordion band, and Gil Dech wielded the baton for several numbers by the 4YA Orchestra. The dance orchestra from the Rangitata also came along and added to the music of the evening.

Hogg’s sound system amplified the music, and Airs Crawford was in charge of the catering. The new dance craze, ‘ The Lambeth Walk,’ was demonstrated by Aliss Betty Anderson and Mr Jack Robinson, and soon most of tlie dancers were trying it put, too. Most found the “ Oi” the easiest part to remomhei
