CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION

NOVEL EDUCATION DISPLAY [Per United Press Association.] AVELLINGTON, November 9. An important part of the education section of the Government court at the Centennial Exhibition will bo exhibits from the four teachers’ training colleges. A sub-committee from the colleges under the chairmanship of Mr F. C. Lopdell (principal of the Wellington Training College) has prepared a schedule of exhibits which has been approved. by the Minister of Education (Mr Fraser). Possibly the most striking feature will be working groups of students doing practical work. The exhibits will include original teaching aids and devices, lantern slides, and film strips, and there will be a class with a teacher listening to music broadcasts. ...... The final selection of the exhibits is to be made in AVellington by a central committee of experts. The exhibits "Will be uniformly mounted to obtain an attractive display on the walls and tables. The sub-committee suggested that as frequent changes of exhibits would be made, and as certain displays might not lend themselves to a visually attractive or colourful simple scheme of a mural, a decoration of a semi-per-manent character should be devised. This will convey a distinctive note and should help to unify the whole exhibit. The decorative scheme will be designed and executed by training college art and craft students.
