[From Our Oamaru Correspondent.] NEGLIGENT MOTORIST. ' At the Oamaru Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Air H. W. Bundle, S.M., •imposed a (fins of £1- 10s and costs (10s) on Thomas Alexander Ballantyne for driving a motor car without due care aud attention. Defendant had been turning out of Thames street and did not *see a boy on a bicycle on his correct side. The bicycle was slightly damaged but the boy was not injured. OAMARU POULTRY SOCIETY. Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Oamaru Poultry, Pigeon, ana canary Society were as follows: Patron, Mr James Gerne; vice-patrons —Messrs G. M. Gardiner, It. jx.. Ireland, J. W. Browue (pigeons), W. Stephens, It. E. Malian, W. M‘D. itae, A. North, W. Crombie, and A. Napier (small birds). ANGLING COMPETITION. The Burton Challenge Cup, for the winner of the angling competition, held at the Kakanui River, went to Mr I. Chalmers, with an "aggregate weight of Sjlbs. The club trophy was won by Mr 11. B. Gibb, with eight fish, weighing a total of slbs 13ioz, the second trophy going to Mr W r . Thomas, with five fish, 4lbs Boz. The competitors landed 34 fish with the bare tly. LAWN TENNIS. At lawn tennis, Ngapara beat Windsor by 10 sets to 5. Following were the results of the singles:—Clark beat Cliisliolm, 6-3, W’atson lost to Robinson, 4-6. Forbes lost to M'Farlane, 4-6, Daly beat Milmine, 6-0, Miss Morrison beat Miss Perkins, 6-3, Mrs M'Kenzie beat Mrs Smith, 6-2, Miss Paterson lost to Miss Hampton, 5-6, Miss Erickson Jost to Miss Barr, 6-6. CRICKET. Mr M. S. Holmes presided at the fortnightly meeting of the North Otago Cricket Association. The transfer of H. E. Park was confirmed. The Hook Cricket Club accepted an invitation to play a match near the end of the season. The Union Club entered a second grade team, and Albion a third grade team. The Secretary reported that a North Otago team had been entered for Country Week in Dunedin.
