AUCKLAND CATHEDRAL PROJECT
£IOO,OOO NECESSARY FOR START [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, October 19. Proposals for building nn Anglican cathedral in Auckland are contained in a bill which was introduced to-day in the Diocesan Synod. Archdeacon Simkin said the first part of the cathedral would be begun as soon as enough money was available, and that would have to be /within 10 years of the decease of Mias M. T. Horton, whose bequest of £60,000 had brought the scheme within the region of practicability. Archdeacon Simkin added that it was likely that £IOO,OOO would be >needed before the first part of the building could be completed. Provision would be made for the incorporation of St, Mary’s Church in the cathedral. i
