ESTIMATED AT £36,009 [Peb United Press Association.] TE AROHA, October 19. The Morrinsville branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union has applied to the Department of Agriculture for the stationing of at least two veterinary surgeons in the district consequent upon heavy losses of dairy stock through diseases. From February to September! 1,962 cattle were sent to three boiling-down works, hundreds more not being sent through difficulty in reaching the conveying lorries. The estimated loss in the past seven months totals £36,000. Public bodies are supporting the Farmers’ Union in its application, as the position is considered serious. ■
