OPENING CEREMONY IN BUCHAREST FOUNDED BY AHGLO-RUMAHIAH SOCIETY (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, October 17. On the occasion of the recent opening of the British Institute in Bucharest telegrams signed by Lord Lloyd, chairman of the British Council, and M. V. Tilea, president of the AngioRunianian Society, were sent to King George and to King Carol, patron of the Anglo-Ruraanian Society. ' Lord Lloyd, who has just returned from a private visit to Rumania, where he took the opportunity to perform the inaugural ceremony, has now received the following telegram from King George;—" I much appreciate the telegram addressed to me hv M. Tilea and”vourself on the occasion of the inau<niration of the British Institute in Bucharest. Please convey to Al. Tilea mv sincere thanks, together with my host wishes for tho future of the British Institute.” , The New British Institute, which was started in 1937, was an English school founded by the Anglo-Rumanian Society with 150 pupils, and has expanded its premises to accommodate 2,300 pupils uow studying there.
