As a normal, intelligent housewife with a sound appreciation of my responsibilities as a mother, I have serious consideration to the political issue. My husband, since the advent of the Labour Government, has been in steady employment at a reasonably good salary, which provides our only source of income. No one could accuse me of extravagance or living beyond my means, and J can with justification lay claim to a full appreciation of the value of thrift. I SHALL CERTAINLY VOTE LABOUR on October 15,. because reasoned study of the policy of the parties and experience of both National and Labour rule convince me that in the interests of my family I must help Mr Savage to implement fully his humane and progressive programme. Admittedly, the cost of living has risen, but with a constant and higher income I know that, like mv friends and relatives, I AM DEFINITELY BETTER OFF TO-DAY. Further, the Social Security Act will dissipate my fears for the future. ASSURED OF HEALTH SERVICES, FREE MEDICINE, AND SUPERANNUATION, I can face my inevitable old age with a lightened heart freed from the anxiety which we all know has shortened many a life. Without the fear of having some day to face up to a possible account of startling magnitude from a doctor or a hospital, WE CAN NOW PROVIDE LIBERALLY FOR THE BEST EDUCATION FOR THE CHILDREN, AND PROBABLY SOME CULTURAL TRAINING IN THE ARTS OR MUSIC. Let me appeal to all intelligent young wives and mothers' to weigh the pros and cons intelligently, and I am sure that all will vote Labour.
