‘THE MYSTERIOUS VALLEY'
An Australian story with a setting of both town and country life, ‘ The Mysterious Valley ’ has for its hero Harry Dexter, a prominent footballer whose breakdown in health causes him to take a caravan trip into the country. Instead of finding pence and quietness, however, he becomes involved in a series of exciting adventures, and has two attempts made on his life. Ho lias inadvertently found out too much concerning cattle stealers and theft of gold, and got on the track of the wrong-doers. He does not shift to more peaceful surroundings, but determines to investigate the mystery—a task which be successfully accomplishes in conjunction with the police. Incidentally, the story is rounded off with a charming romance, and Dexter returns to the city in good health and with a loving wife. The author is Mr G. W.
