‘SWEETHEARTS OF THE SKY'
A delightfully bright novel, which carries the reader along over airy trails, is ‘ Sweethearts of the Sky,’ by Harry Jackson, who, even though ho may have allowed his imagination to run riot with what might possibly he conceived as a fantastic idea, has kept well within the bounds of possibility. The story centres round the exploits of an R.A.F. mechanic whoso sweetheart induces him to steal a plane at the moment it was to set off on a record-breaking flight to Singapore. The venturesome young lady, too, smuggles herself aboard the machine and induces her sweetheart to fly nonstop to Hollywood. The adventures that fall to their lot while crossing the Atlantic and then across the American continent; their exploits in the land of movie stars, all go to make a really humorous story, though the reader may have a lurking thought. at the absurdity of the whole situation. Our copy is from Whitcombe and Tombs.
