FINE—CLOUD INCREASING The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—-Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill,’ 'Riverton, Orepuki,' Halfmoon Bay:— An anti-cyclone extends from the north-west Tasman Sea across the Dominion, with' Centres' of high pressure west of Auckland and east of the South Island, and rather lower pressure in the Bay of Plenty and East Cape areas. A shallow depression is advancing across the South Tasman Sea. . _ ; ’ Forecast: Light and variable winds, with north-east to northerly predoriiinating. Weather fine, but clouds gradually increasing. Temperatures becoming milder. Seas slight to mode* rate. LOCAL CONDITIONS. Bright sunshine from an early hour this morning made conditions pleasant; the sky was but lightly clouded, and the north-easterly breeze was not as cold as leceiitly. However, the wind showed a tendency to freshen later. Barometric pressure ,in the city ■at midday was falling at 30.05 in. : OTHER CENTRES.
