FRIDAY'S COMMUNITY SING

.The committee of the community sing which is to be held on Friday in •the Strand Theatre extends a special invitation to the sing to visitors to the city ■ for the Ranfurly Shield match. Mrs Woodhouse (contralto) will assist, and she will sing the number ‘ Keep on Singing Till the Morning Comes.’ Mr H. P. Desmoulins will bo the leader, and Mr A, Pettitt will be at the piano. A. good programme suitable for. the occasion is being arranged. Mr Himburg, the secretary, would be pleased to receive “ cheerios ” by Thursday. Flowers, are always acceptable for the stall. The proceeds are for the mavor’s relief of distress fund. On, September 10 a special day will be held, when the proceeds will go to the students and the orphan children in China.
