"WHANG'S” COMMUNITY SING

The South Dunedin Community Sing held in the Mayfair Theatre every Wednesday, commencing at noon, is increasing in popularity, and the committee is pleased with the support accorded its efforts by the public, the listeners-in, and the business men of South Dunedin in giving donations. Last Wednesday the collection amounted to £2B 7s 2d. Miss Deslys M'Kenzie, daughter of the popular loader, Mr. “ Whang ” M'Kenzie, will sing on Wednesday ‘ Roses of Picardy ’ and 1 Fairings.’ Dr Noel North, the secretary, and “ Whang ” will be on deck as usual. Miss Olive West will be at the piano. On August 31 the committee has decided to hold an Irish' day. The sing will be broadcast by 4YA, and the theatre management has installed Hogg’s sound system.
