LOSS DURING THE YEAR The honorary treasurer (Mr dames AValiace) presented his report on the annual statement of accounts for the year ended December 31, 1937, to the meeting of the council of the Otago University yesterday. The report stated that the position of the main schools of the University in relation to income and expenditure was indicated by the following- table (shillings and pence omitted) Gain
It will be seen (states Mr AValiace) that in these main accounts, dealing with the University’s essential activities, there was a loss during the year of £3,479 8s lid. The report then dealt exhaustively with the separate accounts to show limy the results had been arrived at. It was decided to thank Mr AValiace for his valuable report.
