HARRIERS’ BIG DAY

SATURDAY'S CROSS-COUNTRY RAGES THREE TITLE EVENTS Three title events for harriers are to be decided at Wingatui on Saturday afternoon, and excellent entries have been received. The Otago junior crosscountry championship over a three-mile course will begin at 2.15, and has drawn an entry of seven teams as well as seven individual runners, making a total field of 50. The entries include teams from St. Paul’s (Invercargill) and Toko.

The Otago senior cross-country championship, to be held at 2.30 and decided over a course of 6i miles, has attracted 12 teams and three individual! runners, making a field of 74 runners, while there is a possibility of an additional entry of a team from H.M.S. Leander.

The day’s sport will be completed with the New Zealand University crosscountry championship, which will be contested by four teams over a 6J-mile course, and will start at 3.15.
