(Received August 17, at 12.40 p.m.) The ‘ Daily Mail ’ says there is much speculation in Salvation Army circles regarding the successor to General Evangeline Booth, who, according to an Act of Parliament, myst on August 25 make a statement clarifying the succession of generalship. _ Several names are proposed, .including Miss Catherine Booth, the 55-year-old niece of General Evangeline, but it is learned authoritatively that General Evangeline’s term will probably be extended for a year.
