TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS [Peu United Piiess Association.] WELLINGTON, August 17. The following police transfers and promotions are announced:— Superintendent Fraser is transferred from Wellington to Auckland to replace Superintendent Till, who has retired. Inspector Lewin, of Nelson, is promoted to superintendent and transferred to Wellington. Sub-inspector Carroll, of Wellington, is promoted to inspector at Nelson. Chief-detective Young, of Dunedin, is transferred to take charge of the detective office at Wellington. Detective-sergeant Holmes, of Christchurch, is transferred to take charge of the detective office at Dunedin,
