LECTURER IN PHILOSOPHY
VICTORIA COLLEGE APPOINTMENT [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON August 5. At a recent meeting of the Council of Victoria University College it was decided to offer an additional lectureship in philosophy and psychology to Mr L. S. Hearnshaw, M.A. (Oxon.), B.A. (London). Cabled advice has just been received that Mr Hearnshaw has accepted the position. In regard to applications from Great Britain, the council had the benefit of a recommendation from an advisory committee in London, which interviewed most of the suitable candidates. Mr Hearnshaw was very strongly recommended for the position. He obtained a first class in Greats at Oxford, his special study being philosophy, and he subsequently received the B.A. degree of the London University with first class honours in psychology. Air Hearnshaw, who at the moment is on the staff of the National Institute of Industrial Psychology, has had experience both in lecturing and in research.
