DETTON BEATS MEEHAN [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, August 1. In a bout marked by ranch clever wrestling and plenty of elbow jolts, drop-kicks, head throws, and nym§ tackles, Dean Detton beat Pat Meehan by one fall obtained with a jackknife hold in the sixth round. It was a colourful bout from the stare to tne finish, and the rapid action greatly pleased the well-filled house. In a second professional bout over six rounds. Anton Koolman (Wellington) beat Eddie Morley (Wairarapa) by a fall in the last round.
