RAIN IN TARANAKI
SOME TRAFFIC DISORGANISATION [Pee United Pebss Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, June 21. Heavy rain in different parts of Taranaki last night caused minor interruptions to road and railway traffic through slips. * On the Stratford to Main Trunk railway a slip accurred between Pohokura and Whangamomona, and traffic was disorganised for about four hours until the debris was cleared away The road over the Strathmore Saddle was also blocked by a slip, which was not cleared until this afternoon. Road blockages through small slips also occurred on the Main North road in the Uruti Valley, but the trouble was not serious, and the road was reopened early in the day. During the morning the road was under water in a few lowlying places, but the flooding soon subsided.
