VICTORIA LEAGUE, YOUNG CONTINGENT
The first annual meeting of the Young Contingent of the Victoria League was held in the Otago Women’s Club on Monday afternoon, Mrs Gerald Fitzgerald presiding. The Victoria League ball, held earlier in the month, under the auspices of the junior branch, proved a great success, both socially and financially, and a substantial sum was handed over to the league funds. Arrangements were made for junior members to help with the distribution of books and magazines to dwellers in outlying districts. A small working committee appointed to arrange any further efforts consisted of—Chairwoman, Mrs Gerald Fitzgerald; secretary, Miss Winifred Johnstone; treasurer, Miss Marjory Macandrew; committee—Mesdames Guy Tayley, John Solomon, Lyndon Macassey, Misses Kathleen Fountain, Joy Barnett, Judith Dunn, Barbara Dodgshun, Marjory Mumford, Zita Hart, Alma Browne. Barbara Williams, and Billie Mitchell. At the conclusion of the business members were the guests of the president of the Victoria League fMrs Eardley Reynolds) at afternoon tea.
