CHISHOLM PARK GOLF LINKS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I was somewhat at .a loss, on reading 44 Birdie’s ” letter, to understand exactly what was meant. _ To Mr Tannock and those associated with him must be given all credit for the wonderful transformation of a stretch of lupine-supporting ground into what promises in the near future to be one of the finest natural courses in the country. Mr Orr, the greenkeeper and professional attached to the course, has, by his tireless zeal and enthusiasm, done more to popularise this course than any others concerned with it. In my opinion, it was mainly duo to this gentleman's kindly advice and consideration to those just starting tho game that tho course enjoys the large following it docs. As to professional ability, if he is able to coach members of Ids own family into winning competitive events in local clubs, surely he is able to put beginners on the right track. —I am, etc., June 20. Albaxeoss.
