WRESTLING

BLOMFIELD V. MOEK Probably never before has there been a wrestling match in Dunedin to which as much feeling attaches as that which is to be staged at the Town Hall next Saturday night. The contestants will be “ Lofty ” Blomfield, the Dominion champion, and Andy Moen, of Minnesota, whose unbeaten record was spoiled in highly unsatisfactory fashion when he had a bout with Blonifield in the same ring a few weeks ago. It will be recalled that the men were all set for a thrilling climax after Blomfield had levelled the falls when the referee stopped the contest and declared Blonifield the winner, taking the view that Moon was not in fit shape to continue. This decision Moen hotly contested, and. in view of the fact that he has shown himself to be an extremely tough

wrestler, it is quite conceivable 'that, had he been allowed to go on, he would at least have gained a draw if not victory. In a subsequent match Moen convincingly demonstrated his ability to handle the New Zealand champion, but at the end of the bout the referee was unable to separate the- men, 'and awarded a draw. This satisfied neither s man, and they have agreed that n decision must be given when they meet oil Saturday night. So keen are they to settle the dispute that they have also agreed to meet on a winner-take-ntl basis, and consequently the clash will be fought on both sides with the utmost vigour from end to end. A botifc between Afoen and Blomfield would <-rovide -thrills in nnv circuit stances, and more than ever in the case of their local clash.
