Mr H. Coull left for Wellington today. Superintendent F. H. Price, of tha Dunedin Fire Brigade, was a passenger on the north express this morning, bound for Wellington on Fire Board business. Mr A. J. Scott, a member of the Christchurch Stock Exchange, attended this morning’s call of the local exchange Reference was made by the president (Mr J. M'Donald) at the annual meeting of the Balmacewen Bowling Club last night to the death of Mr J. M. S. MacArthur, a former president, and a motion of sympathy was carried. Mr L. V. Bryant, M.A., who has been invited by the Otago branch of the Royal Society to lecture on behalf of the Museum Auditorium Fund,_ has been awarded a Carnegie Educational Fellowship, and will proceed shortly to tho University of-London. For the first part of his journey Mr Bryant will be in charge of a party of New Zealand schoolboys visiting British Columbia. After seeing them aboard their steamer on their retuasa trip Mr Bryant will continue his journey to London. Guests at the City Hotel include Mr John Sutton (Auckland), Mr E. Jackson, Mr J. 11.
