INSURGENT ATTACKS REPULSED BARCELONA AGAIN RAIDED. LONDON, June 18. A message from Madrid states it is claimed that the. loyalists repulsed four insurgent attacks at Villa Real. Many arrived on the verge of collapse from hunger and exhaustion after fighting in the mountains, where it is impossible to carry big\ stores of provisions. The commander estimates the insurgents’ casualties at 10.000 and the loyalists’ at 1.200. , LOYALIST SUBMARINE'S VOYAGE ST. NAZAIRE, June 18. The Spanish submarine C2 sailed for an unknown destination. It is believed that its commander is aiming to rejoin the Government fleet. It will bo forced to run the insurgent blockade of the Straits of Gibraltar.

DR NEGRIN STILL HOPEFUL BROADCAST FROM MADRID. MADRID, June 19. (Received June 20, at 8 a.m.) Dr Negrin broadcast the following message:—“ Our soldiers retreat in tho face of an irresistible force, but will not surrender. One of the principal reasons for our defeat is the lack of trained officers, but the reorganising of commands is improving and we are multiplying our training schools. We have reserves which will increase with efficient training.” VALENCIA HARBOUR BLOCKED SUCCESSFUL REBEL BOMBING EFFORTS. BARCELONA, June 19. (Received June 20, at 11 a.m.) Rebel planes bombed Barcelona three times, killing 30 and wounding 25. Saragossa headquarters claim success for the bombing efforts, and assert that large stores of petrol have been burning all the week. Traffic has been suspended for a fortnight in Valencia Harbour, which is obstructed by sunken vessels, two of which are at the harbour mouth. The mole at Alicante Harbour has been bisected and a munitions factory and powder magazine destroyed, also the railway stations at Mcdiodia and Murcia.
