VISITING THEOLOGIANS

DISTINGUISHED AMERICANS [Pee United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, June 19.. A distinguished visitor to arrive ip New Zealand by the Monterey on July 8 is Dr William Horton, professor of theology in the Oberliu Graduate School of Theology, and, formerly instructor in systematic theology, in the Uhibh' : Seminary of New York. Dr Horton, as one of the delegates from the United States of America, is travelling, to Madras by way of New Zealand to attend the third international missionary conference to be held there in December of_ this year. Dr Horton, who will be in New Zealand for about a month, is recognised as one of America’s leading theologians. He is the author of several important theological works, and is generally recognised as belonging ,to , the “ realist ” school of modern philosophers.

He will lecture to/ students in the main centres of the Dominion, and a theological conference, open to all churches, has been arranged for his benefit in Christchurch from July 13 to 15.

An equally distinguished American theologian to land in Auckland from the Monterey will be Professor Henry van Dusen, of the Union Seminary of New York, but Professor van Diisen will spend only five days in New Zealand.
