RIFLE SHOOTING

KIWI DEFENCE CLUB Tb® first shoot of the winter series was fired at the Pelichet Bay Range on Saturday afternoon. The light was poor, but some good scores were made. The programme comprised two shoots at 300yds, the first being seven shots with two sighters and the second 10 shots with one sighter. The second shoot was also a pairs aggregate for prizes subscribed by the club. The only pos« sible (35) was hit by Rifleman W. Mills( 34 was secured by Rifleman O. Kibble* white. The highest score in the 10-sho( shoot was 48, put on by Rifleman R, Leslie (Dunedin). The pairs aggregate was won by Riflemen Leslie 48 and G Adams 45—93. Riflemen Gillespia and Butel 46 each,' total 92, were second; dnd Riflemen Quinn and E, Adams 45 each, total, 90, took the third prize. Scores; —
