CHISHOLM PARK GOLF COURSE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Having a season’s ticket for the course, I would like to know if the council employs a qualified greenkeeper, as the greens are in a very bad state; the holes have not been shifted for nearly two weeks. No. 1 green is always covered with pine needles. Surely they could be brushed off at the weekends, and quite a number of other f reons have bare patches and are umpy. Surely these could be replaced with good turf, or grass seed could he sown. They have been like this for months. Seeing we have a new City Council, surely it will pass on word to Mr Tannock to look after this work. Another thing our City Council could do is to call applications for a professional and appoint a good man, as many who are playing on the course are beginners and are keen to learn and play in matches. Since the course was opened it has been well patronised, and will be more so when the other nine holes are made, and in time to come will be one of the best courses in Dunedin. —I am. etc., Birdie.
