CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH

ANNUAL SOCIAL AT RAVENSBOURNE . Tim anniversary services in connection; with the Ravensbourne Gongregational Church were continued last evening. The Roy. Mr Sands presided, and extended a welcome to friends from the Dunedin, Port Chalmers, and local churches. The secretary read the annual report, which showed that the church had experienced a very successful year special mention being made of the good work being carried on by the minister. Referring to the report, Mr Sands paid a tribute to the church officers, who, he said, had worked faithfully during the year. . Short speeches were given by the Rev. C. G. H. Bycroft (United Church), Rev. J. J. Caimey (local Presbyterian church), Mr G. Crosby (local Methodists), and Mr J. S. Little (lay preacher), all conveying congratulations and best wishes for the coming year. The choirmaster, Mr John Connor, presented the following programme:—Solos. Mrs Sprat and Messrs H. Facer and G. Dyer; quartet. Misses D. Connor, D. Facer, Messrs J. Connor, and H. Facer; duet, Miss D. Connor and H. Facer: recitation, Miss F. Dyer. The choir also rendered two anthems. The ladies of the congregation served supper.
