CHARGEABLE—SCATTERED RAINS The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office,. Wellington, covering the south* ern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, ton, Orepuki, Halfmoon Bay:— A series of shallow westerly disturbances continues to pass in the south, while a rathdr shallow cyclonic depression is centred between Cape Maria Van Diemen and Norfolk Island. Forecast: North-west to south-west winds prevailing, strong at times about ' Foveaux Strait, otherwj.se mainly light to moderate. Weather changeable, with occasional but scattered rain. Temperatures cool to moderate, Seas rather rough to rough about Foveaux Strait, otherwise moderate. CHANGE LIKELY. There was a light north-easterly breeze this morning, but conditions generally were quite, pleasant, with,, some sunshine and mild temperatures* Noon found the maximum at 54.1 deg at the Gardens, and the lowest reading at 46deg.
