COMMUNITY SINGING
The second community sing of the season will be held to-morrow in the Strand Theatre (by courtesy of FullerHayward), when the special item will be vocal duets by Misses Rita and Millie Shrimpton, Mrs Roberts (Christchurch) has sent a bedspread (colour vieux rose), and the committee would be pleased to receive an offer. A disabled soldier (Invercargill) has forwarded three framed pictures, which will be sold to-morrow. Mr H. P. Desmoulins is arranging another programme, and introducing several new numbers, and by special request the song ‘ The Fleet’s in Port ’ will be sung, as well as the late John Haggitt’s ‘ Old Friends and New.’ Mr A. Pettitt wilt be at the piano. Mrs M‘lntyre, who has charge of the stall, would be pleased to receive goods and flowers. Mr J. F. Himbnrg, the secretary, asks for cheerios to be sent in early, and announces that the men from tiio French sloop Rigault de Genouilly have accepted the invitation to be present. Proceeds arc for the Mayor’s Relief of Distress Fund.
