DR SUTCLIFFE'S LECTURES

Another large audience was present at the Y.M.C.A. last evening, when Dr Sutcliffe gave hia lecture on ‘ Glands and Nerves—the Miracle Workers.’ He spoke principally on the actions and the reactions of the endocrine system, emphasising the functions of the various glands as they related to mental and Ehysical health. “It has heen proved y scientists 'time and time again,” he said, “ that unused tissues lose their vitality, and the nutriments which, build them up tend to become clogged. The result is weak thinking in a, weak body.” The. state and condition of the glands determined the characteristics of the body in shape and weight, and also indicated the emotional reactions to life. They were, indeed, the keystone* to character, personality, and health. At the conclusion of the lecture Dr Sutcliffe and his secretary, Miss D. Law, demonstrated a series of physical exercises. On Monday evening, at the Y.M.C.A., Dr Sutcliffe will give two lectures, on* at 7, to women only, on * The Secrets of Life,’ and the other at 8.15 to all on ‘ Devitalised and Diseased _ at 40! Why?’ Particulars are advertised.
