HITLER'S WELCOME HOME DECEIVED LIKE A COKOUERING HERD Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright BERLIN, May 10. Herr Hitler was welcomed home like a conquering hero. Enormous crowds burst into-cheering as'he detrained and greeted Field-Marshal Goering, whereupon 400 Hitler Youth trumpeters played a fanfare. Italian and Gorman Hags were draped everywhere. Searchlights flooded the streets through which the Fuhrer drove. Blazing lights, multi-coloured fireworks, saluting guns, and deafening heils accompanied his entry to the Chancellery. In order to avoid offending his hosts Herr Hitler did not halt when crossing South'Tyrol. Crowds of Austrians merely caught a glimpse of the speeding train. ■After crossing the Brenner Pass the train slowed down, enabling the crowds to see Herr Hitler, who appeared exceedingly sun-tanned and robust. Every station was decked with flowers. Herr Hitler frequently alighted to receive addresses of loyalty. STRONGER LINK WITH ITALY BERLIN, May 11. (Received May 12, at 1.5 p.m.) King Emmanuel telegraphed Herr Hitler as follows:—“The ideological link between the two countries is still stronger ae the result of your visit.” HITLER PLEASED WITH RESULTS LONDON, May 11. (Received May 12, at 1.30 p.m. The ‘ Daily Telegraph’s ’ Berlin correspondent learns from quarters close to Herr Hitler that he is most satisfied with the results of his talks with Signor Mussolini. It is emphasised that the relations between Rome and Berlin are more intimate than ever. It is even stated authoritatively that . the dictators reached an agreement, about the limits Signor Mussolini set for concessions in the Italo-French conversations.
