(Received May 12, at 1.30 ip.m.) Mr Charles Smith, a Sydney stockbroker, has sailed for London following extensive negotiations for the resale of gold mines to American interests on May 7. He declined to discuss the matter, but it was learned that he had various discussions with banking groups, one of which is reported to he the Kidder Peabody Company. The J. P. Morgan Company is also mentioned as one of the groups which might be interested, although it is not believed that it was consulted.
