FORESTERS

• At the fortnightly meeting of Court Excelsior, No. 6,128, C.R. Bro. W. D. Cunningham presided over a full muster of officers and members. The meeting was. opened in mourning in memory of C.R. Bro. J. J. Baker, of Wanganui. It was decided to place on record a minute of appreciation of the work done by Bro. Baker over 58 years. A letter was received showing the placings of the court in the recent ritual competition, Court Excelsior being first. Invitations were received from Court Pride of the Leith and Court King' Edward’s Pride. District Chief Ranger Bro. E. Clayton wrote thanking the court and delegates for their support at the district meeting held at Easter. It was decided to send a letter of congratulation to Bro; R. Stewart on his winning the Ne,w Zealand Grand Prix (motor cycle event). At the conclusion of the meeting the court’s medical officer (Bro. A. A. Reid) gave an interesting address on auto-infection. Court Excelsior’s Pride (juvenile) held its monthly meeting, C.R. Bro. C. Munro presiding over a full muster of officers, members, and the Management Committee. It was decided to enter three teams for the five-a-side football tournament at Logan. Park on the King’s Birthday. Bros. A. S. Dyke and J. T. Wilson, members of the Juvenile Council, carried out the installation of. officers, which was as follows: —C.R.,* Bro. E. Jarvis; S.C.R., Bro. R. Slement; S.W., Bro. K. Morrison; J.W., Bro.’ E. Newman; 5.8., Bro. J. Cain| J. 8., Bro. O. Newman; M.S., Bro T. Hay. The officers all returned thanks for their election. Bro. A. S. Dyke, who was judging the ritual, gave the court some constructive criticism. Bro. Wilson also gave the boys a short address on the aims of Forestry.
