NOTICE OP CONFIRMATION OF SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORISING THE RAISING OP A LOAN OF £IOO,OOO, TO BE KNOWN AS THE “HOUSING LOAN (No. 2), 1937.” PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Dunedin City Council, at a Special Meeting convened tor the purpose and held on MONDAY, the 14th day of February, 1938, passed the undermentioned resolution authorising the raising of a Special Loan of £IOO,OOO, to be known as the “Housing Loan (No. 2), 1937.” The Resolution is as follows: — That, pursuant to the provisions of “ The Muncipal Corporations Act, 1933,” and “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves, so that this resolution may be confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council and operate as a Special Order, as follows—that is to say: 1. That the said Council hereby resolves to raise a Special Loan of One Hundred Thousand Pounds (£100,000), to he known as the “Housing Loan (No. 2), 1937, for the purpose of the acquisition of land and the erection of workers’ dwellings and for any other purpose in relation to workers’ dwellings as described in part XXVII. of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.”2. That the term of the said loan shall be Thirty (30) years, and the rate of interest on any part of such loan shall not exceed Three Pounds (£3) per centum per annum. 3. That the said Loan, or any part thereof, shall be repaid by equal aggre-. gate annual or half-yearly instalments, extending over the term determined in paragraph 2 above, and that the payment of such instalments shall he . made in New Zealand, and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money. 4. That the security for the interest and the repayment of the said Loan be a special annually recurring rate of One Penny Farthing (lid) in the Pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the city, comprising the - whole of the City of Dunedin. 5. That the said Loan of £IOO,OOO bo raised by the issue of debentures under “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” and that each such debenture shall be of the same aggregate sum, comprising an instalment of principal and interest sufficient to repay the whole loan with interest thereon at a rate not exceeding Three per centum (3 per cent.) per annum upon the expiration of the loan period of 30 years. 6. That the said debentures shall be payable at any branch of the Bank of New Zealand within the Dominion of New Zealand free of exchange to the holder thereof. 7. That the Corporate Seal of the City Council be affixed to all such debentures, and that all such debentures be signed by the Mayor and countersigned by the City Treasurer.
