CASH DOCKET RECEIPTS
DUTY LIABILITY IN QUESTION [Peb United Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON, February 25. Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M., in a reserved judgment in the cash docket receipt cases, as to whether the dockets were liable for duty, said the words “ executed in New Zealand ” might have far-reaching consequences and would no doubt be considered in appeal proceedings. Should that bo so, further questions could be dealt with by the Supreme Court. The magistrate therefore dismissed all the informations on the ground that the documents in question, if they were receipts, were unsigned, and so were not liable for duty.
