NOTES AND CSMENTS
Observation Dead. Mr Gordon M‘Eachern, 25 Coleman street, Westmead, New South Wales, reports the sudden death during November, 1937, of Observation (Harlean (imp.)—Whittle Leete) at bis kennels. Observation could be classed as being among the topliners in producing outstanding performers both on the plumpton and on the racing tracks. He was responsible for SentineL possibly the most outstanding performer of recent years behind the mechanical hare, also the champion half-miler, Miss Sylvia, and Observandy, winner of the 1936 Derby. Another brilliant galloper is Carlton Ale, while among a long list of good gallopers the writer recalls Caluso, Master_ Meggs, Bridge Lass, Miss Observation, and Miss Leete. One of the latest stud matrons to visit Observation was Mr Souter’s Andy’s Daughter. The loss of Observation, is a severe one to Mr M'Eacbern, both from a sentimental and financial viewpoint, although' he has the consolation of having retained both Sentinel and Observandy The services of both these dogs have been in great demand.
