GIANT FLYING BOATS PROPOSED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, February 22. (Received February 23, at 8 a.m.)' The Minister of Defence (Mr H. V. Thorby) announced that giant flying boats nearly twice the size of the Centaurus are being designed in England for the transtasman air service. He pointed out that although the recent Tasman, crossing by the Centaurus was highly successful, it would be impossible to make a commercial success of a service with aircraft of such a small payload as the Centaurus.
